Ride 'em

published by Ellora's Cave

At a young age, Sunflower Forever Free is put in a position where she must take control of her life.  A gentle soul who never chose how or where she lived, decides to stay in a small town she stumbles upon and start over.  Here she has hopes of finding her white picket dream.

Rehabilitated bad boy Courtland Dickerson returns to the town of his childhood, the last place he’d been happy.  He starts his horse breeding business and settles on the normal path he’d always wanted, one far away from the destructive influences of his past.

Besides hard work, kinky games are being played behind barn doors.  After one particularly wild ride, Sunflower and Courtland discover how well matched they are and together, embark on a new path.

Is the dream of a white picket fence life possible for people who play kinky sex games?

Behind the Scenes

What inspired this tale...

MTV had shows about the 60's and 70’s that had me thinking about a variety of things, things like Jonestown and The Beach Boys.

During this time period there were free spirits or people wanting to step back from a structured society and choose a new path to follow.  Communes, cults, or likeminded people creating groups from common interests sprouted up all over the place.  There was a steady stream of people that wanted to be a part of a promised utopian existence.

Hmmm, interesting but there's more.

In Southern California, the perfect place to relax on lovely beaches, there were free spirits walking down the same streets as people that already were or wanted to be famous.  Yup, a unique mixture of people, but there's more!  Add in drugs and sex, and nothing was the same.  The new openness, desire for peace and love, all created in a place without rules or structure, unfortunately led to a place where life could turn around and go wrong, horribly wrong.

And they did, in Jonestown.  A lesser known example of things going down the wrong path can be found with Dennis Wilson, drummer with The Beach Boys.  He hooked up with Charles Manson because the man always brought with him girls and drugs, only it brought him nothing but problems.

It is with all this information racing through my head that "Ride 'em" was created.
