Stepping hard on the front steps to help knock some of the dirt off his boots, he made his way up to the front porch. Once in the shade, Court took his hat off and hit it against his thigh, allowing dust to fly off the beige felt.

All morning he’d been working with everyone else to prepare and load this first set of horses they’d sold. A ranch down in Texas purchased an even dozen after seeing how well the quarter horses performed on the Big W ranch.

Yup, today had been busy, rewarding as well. He’d worked hard on making the Lucky Double D a success and it was, but it truly felt like it today when those horses were loaded and driven away.
