A sneak peek at something that inspired this tale...

One day the harsh reality of war became too much and I wanted, no more like needed, to put a different spin on it for the sake of my sanity. 

Yup, the inspiration for OohRah! was that simple.  The real question is: why a Marine?

“Once a Marine, always a Marine.”  In a conversation with a friend’s husband, a Marine and Vietnam Vet, he mentioned this statement and it stuck with me.  The dedication and strength these men and women have in their souls to serve is an incredible gift that shouldn’t be overlooked or pushed aside.

Now, there’s no definitive answer for where “oohrah” came from, what it means, or how to spell it.  The definition I found and used said:

“The official Marine Corps Training Reference Manual

on the history of Marine Recon is titled "AARUGHA",

giving credence on the origination of the 'POSITIVE RESPONSE'

accenting anything that is meant to be good and
