What inspired
this tale...
hu· bris (also hy· bris) n.
Overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance [Gk., excessive pride, wanton
violence].
This is the underlying premise
behind "New Beginnings: Carpe Diem". The time in which this book
was written, the various media venues were full of powerful leaders making
boastful statements that ended up changing the world as we know it today.
I wanted to take this idea and twist it around and what I came up with is:
what would you do if you knew life as your nation knew it to be, was based on a
lie?
But, I am not a doom and gloom
type of person, so of course, neither is what I write. While there isn't a
utopian existence promised or delivered in this book, I will admit that where
Maris and Cooper end up is what I would consider on par with the concept.
