A sneak peek at something that inspired this tale...
At seventeen I
pulled my portfolio together, borrowed a proper skirt and blouse from my mom and
went for an admissions interview. I’m
still shocked they took me on, but straight out of high school I headed for art
college…yup, fashion design in particular.
The courses were interesting and fabulous. I loved every moment of it, except for the
sewing. There was just no skill on
my side so off I went to a traditional college to study an even less useful
subject. The affection I have for fashion
has never left me. In fact, while I'm not big into reality t.v., I do love to sit down with a bowl of
popcorn and watch Project
Runway [and if I can find it Project Catwalk]. It gets my creative juices
flowing in a different direction all over again. Unfortunately, I still
can't sew.
Then, as things
often happen these days, I funneled what was floating through my mind and melded
it with what I was doing at the time and there was the story!
