Tilly Greene

Mimi St. John is an intelligent woman in a committed relationship, or so she thought. After dropping hints and finally getting a small taste of what she truly wanted from her lover in the bedroom, he leaves.

Rick Milston has known from the first moment he saw his lover that she was the only one for him. They suit each other perfectly. As they make the steps to start down a new path, life rears it's head and turns everything upside down. With a passion for fashion and bondage, these two lovers find themselves reuniting on the runway.

About Tilly Greene

Born into the easy folds of a sleepy beach town Tilly Greene has ever since been trying to shake the sand out from between her toes. Thinking she had it all figured out she moved to colder, frigid if you ask her, climes and, although seeing seasons evolve is wonderful she has yet to recover her equilibrium. The thongs and shorts are still regularly worn, no matter what time of year, and her imagination runs to the wild side of scorching.

An Interview with Tilly Greene

By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio

 *

HH: Tilly, welcome back to TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured work, The Leather Bride.

TG: Hey there Holly, it's always lovely to be here at TRS Blue, and, let me take this opportunity to compliment TRS on the Romance Galleria, what a wonderful place to play around, thank you. Okay, let's see, where to start. Hmmm, oh, I got it - The Leather Bride is about a passion for fashion and bondage. This tale is about lovers who, after experiencing an entirely new level of love, hit a bumpy patch in their otherwise steady relationship. And yet, past mistakes no longer matter when the lovers reunite on the runway.

HH: This is a unique take on the reunited lovers story. Where did you get the idea? TG: Communication is a major part of a successful relationship and it's often the reason many of them breakdown. I wanted to write a story that showed how easy it is to allow those lines to drop or break, even if it's done with the best of intentions in mind, and how it's not too late to make it right.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story?

TG: That is a harder question to answer than you might think. I guess I'm like a mother hen and admit I loved every bit of it. The characters are interesting in how they react to both the good and the bad around them. The fashion show was a blast to write, as was the couples more intimate scenes. Hmmm, and the bondage, well, it was fun in its own special way.

HH: What challenges did you face?

TG: I can't say it was really a challenge, but there was some research I needed to do and it's always fun to see how those details are twisted, fleshed out and become integrated in the tale.

HH: What do you like most about your two romantic leads?

TG: There's loads but I'll narrow it down and pick one thing for each. Rick Milston is successful and gorgeous, but he's not infallible. When his friend points out how wrong he's been, there's nothing he won't do to make it right again. And then there's Mimi St. John, not a stick thin model but an accountant, who manages to tap into her inner strength and walk down the runway for a friend. These two aren't perfect by any means, they could be anyone, and that's what I like about them most.

HH: What are you working on now?

TG: Ooo, thank you for asking because I'm so excited about my current projects. I've toning up Come, Now the first in the Come trilogy, now only the last one needs to be completed before submitting it. The Ivanovich brothers are delicious shifters who have only themselves to blame for state of their love lives, but they aren't the type to sit back and wait for things to fix themselves. I've also been working on My Angel, a companion story to Call Me Lucifer, and yes, it's another story full of twists and turns.

HH: What do you enjoy most about being a writer?

TG: The best part is being able to tell a story that in the end will entertain the reader. I like to write about people who fall in love, the good and the bad parts, with all the doors and windows open. My preference is to build characters who aren't perfect, and despite their imperfections are still confident in themselves. Oh, and I like adding unexpected twists and turns along the way to a HEA.

HH: What do you consider a good writing day?

TG: HA! A good writing day is when I can ignore everything going on around me and just write.

HH: What do you enjoy doing in any free time?

TG: Travel. I was recently in Paris and the trip spawned the next story in the Passion for Fashion and Bondage series, Taming Marie Antoinette [coming out in October 2007]. Then there is my pop-ups, time speeds by when I'm trying to create one or working out the kinks in a book from my collection.

HH: Will you be attending any conferences or conventions this year?

TG: Unfortunately no, family is top of the list right now so all our spare time is spent with them. I can't wait to hear all about them from those who do attend, they really are such a fun time. Phrew, thank Holly, always a pleasure to talk with you =)

HH: Thank you!
